How the rankings work
Every ranking is built from facts we checked on a page you can open: a vendor's partner directory, an award body's winners page, a review site or a public code repository. Formula version 0.2 (19 Oct 2026: wins now count with diminishing returns up to the most-awarded agency in each ranking, so a crowded field is not a tie).
The formula
An agency earns points on five criteria. A criterion counts in a ranking only once it has been checked for every agency in that ranking, and the score is the points earned out of the points available, scaled to 100. Until all five are checked, scores are provisional.
| Criterion | Weight | What counts |
|---|---|---|
| Vendor-verified credentials | 30 | The partner tier shown in the vendor's own directory, such as Adobe, Shopify, AWS, HubSpot, BigCommerce, Shopware, UiPath, Snowflake or Databricks. Higher tiers and verified specializations score more. |
| Proven delivery | 30 | Wins listed on the award body's own winners page in the last 36 months; a shortlist, silver or bronze counts half, an agency-of-the-year title counts two. Each further win adds a little less, and full points go to the most-awarded agency in that ranking (four wins, when no one has more). A result the agency publishes about itself counts a quarter of a win. Awards from events scandiweb organizes count for no one. |
| Certified depth | 15 | Certified people shown in the vendor's directory. Only checked for Adobe Commerce so far. |
| Client reviews | 15 | The Clutch rating, weighted by the number of reviews, or the vendor directory's rating when it has more reviews. |
| Freshness | 10 | The share of an agency's facts checked in the last 90 days. |
When a ranking opens
A ranking gets a page once ten agencies in it have fully checked records. Each open ranking now has 18 to 27 checked agencies. Scores stay provisional until every criterion is checked for every agency in a ranking.
Check dates
Every fact shows the date it was checked. A partner tier counts for 90 days; after that it has to be checked again or it stops counting.
For agencies
Agencies cannot pay to be listed or ranked. Claiming a record, adding evidence and asking for a correction will open with the public launch, and every correction will be logged with its date.
Who runs RankedAgencies
RankedAgencies is operated by scandiweb, an eCommerce agency that also appears in these rankings.
Open data
Every fact, with its source and check date, will be published as CSV and JSON under CC BY 4.0 with the first full release.
